Guangzhou - Day 4 - Free Day

Today was a free day and we just basically hung out at the hotel and walked around.  The girls and I walked to Shamian Island to check on our laundry that we had dropped off yesterday.  It was supposed to be delivered to us last night but there was a problem at the shop.  So we picked that up and also the chop that I ordered for Taylor yesterday. 

The carving has a rabbit with TAYLOR and also Guo Cai Hong.  And there's an actual rabbit figure on top of the chop as well.

We ate at Subway there on the island.  Then back to the hotel.  Then later this evening we walked up the shopping street behind the hotel.  It's very busy with people and with bright lights.  It has mostly clothing stores but Chelsea was looking for a belt and sunglasses so we looked into most stores for those items.  She did get a belt but couldn't decide on the sunglasses.  There were some stores selling them for 5 yuan, which is less than $1.  The ones she liked the most were 19 yuan, so more like $3.  When you put it that way, it's nothing, but compared to 5y, 19y seemed expensive.  She'll probably ask to go get the 19 yuan ones tomorrow.

I ordered a name painting for Taylor on the island so we'll have to go back there tomorrow to get that.  Luckily we know our way now.  The 1st day when the van left us on the island after the medical exam, we took a wrong turn and it took much longer to walk back.  Plus I'm missing a tank top from the laundry.  They had put a white top in our package that actually belongs to the other mom in our 2 family group.  Unfortunately she didn't get my top in their package.  So I'll have to stop and ask about that as well.
