Dear Sir/Madam:
Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC has scanned and uploaded the petition and has forwarded the petition to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General for further processing on JUNE 1, 2010. Per instructions from the U.S. Embassy, please allow at least three business days for your case to become available for processing before contacting the U.S. Embassy.
Any further inquiries should be directed to the assigned US Embassy or Consulate General.
Foreign State Chargeability: CHINA - MAINLAND
U.S. Embassy/Consulate: CONSULATE GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES,

PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
So what does that mean? It means that the National Visa Center has approved our stuff and forwarded it to the Consulate in Guangzhou. Now our agency sends more of our stuff to their rep, who then brings it to the Consulate. Then I think we wait 2 weeks for the next piece of paper, called Article 5, to be ready, which the rep picks up from the Consulate and sends to Beijing. Then we wait for Travel Approval (TA) and then travel! So the steps are winding down but some people are waiting a month or more to get their TA. It could be August before we can travel at this point.
