I received this email today in response to an email I sent to the Consulate in Guangzhou:
Dear adoptive family,
We are happy to tell you that your article 5 has been pickup by your local facilitator s. Er, JiangLi on Jun 24th.

YEAH!!! So what does ARTICLE 5 mean? It means that we are fully approved by the US side of this process and that final approval letter has been forwarded to the Chinese Adoption powers that be in Beijing. Now we wait for Travel Approval (TA), which could come anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month. And then once our Consulate Appointment is set, we can make travel plans.

Here are some of the abbreviations used in China adoptions:
CCAA - China Center of Adoption Affairs
DTC - Dossier to China
LID - Log In Date (when your dossier is logged into the CCAA system)
LOA - Letter of Acceptance (or LSC-Letter Seeking Confirmation) - this is the letter you receive once the CCAA has approved your dossier)
TA - Travel Approval - notice you receive when CCAA says you can travel
CCAA - China Center of Adoption Affairs
DTC - Dossier to China
LID - Log In Date (when your dossier is logged into the CCAA system)
